It was a chance to pause and recognise how far the charity has come since Karen Sorab OBE and Sharon Lloyd Barnes opened a school in a small prefab hut in 2000. What began as a determined response to a lack of opportunity has grown into schools, early years, Post-19 provision, and outreach services supporting autistic learners, families, and educators across communities.
The evening brought together supporters, partners, trustees, staff, and friends who have each played a part in that journey. There was a shared sense of pride in what has been built, alongside a clear focus on what still needs to change.
We were especially grateful to our funders and partners, including Garfield Weston Foundation, Octopus, and The National Lottery Community Fund, whose commitment has helped turn ambition into sustained impact.
More than a celebration of the past, the reception marked a moment of renewal. As BeyondAutism looks ahead, our commitment remains grounded in early action, standing alongside families, and challenging systems where exclusion has become accepted.
The next chapter is already taking shape, shaped by partnership, evidence, and belief in what autistic learners can achieve when the right support is in place.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all who continue to stand with BeyondAutism as we look forward with purpose and confidence.
