Terms and Conditions and Booking Policy for Family Therapy Services (Early Years)
1. Definitions
Client: Refers to the parent(s), guardian(s), or caregiver(s) engaging therapy services for a child or family.
Therapist: The qualified professional providing therapeutic support.
Child: The individual(s) receiving or participating in sessions.
Services: The agreed package of family therapy support delivered by the Therapist.
2. Scope of Services
Therapy is designed to support families with children in the early years (typically aged 0–5) and is shaped collaboratively through a support plan.
Services may include observation, parent-child sessions, one-to-one consultations with parents or carers, signposting to additional services, and agreed follow-ups.
3. Booking and Payment
- Sessions are pre-booked and confirmed in writing.
- Payment must be received in advance of each session.
- Cancellations made less than 72 hours before a session will be charged in full.
4. Confidentiality and Safeguarding
- All personal information shared during sessions is kept confidential and used only in line with safeguarding and legal responsibilities.
- The Therapist follows statutory safeguarding procedures and may share information if there is a risk of harm to a child or others.
5. Parental Responsibility and Consent
- Written consent from the legal parent(s)/guardian(s) is required prior to beginning sessions.
- Participation is entirely voluntary and can be paused or ended with notice.
6. Record Keeping
Session records, including notes and assessments, are stored securely in accordance with data protection legislation such as the UK GDPR. Records are retained for the time period set by relevant professional and regulatory guidance.
7. Limitations of Service
Therapy is not a replacement for medical, clinical, or psychiatric treatment. Where specialist input is needed, referrals may be recommended.
While the Therapist will provide high-quality, ethical support, specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
8. Code of Conduct and Professional Standards
- The Therapist is registered with a recognised professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP) and works within its code of ethics.
- Clients are expected to engage in sessions respectfully and provide accurate information to help tailor support effectively.
9. Liability
BeyondAutism and its therapists are not liable for indirect or consequential outcomes related to participation. Liability is limited to the value of the services paid for.
10. Ending the Service
- Services may be ended by either party with a minimum of three working days’ notice.
- The Therapist may also withdraw services where the boundaries of therapy are not being respected or if the service is no longer appropriate.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, with any disputes handled accordingly.
12. Acceptance of Terms
By engaging in the service, the Client confirms understanding and acceptance of these terms.
