Embassy of Man Early Years grant

14th February 2018

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a generous grant of £1983 from Embassy of Man, the in-house charity for Holiday Inn Express Wimbledon South, towards the purchase of equipment for our Early Years provision.

After a successful pilot of the Early Years workshop programme in 2017 we sought funding so that we could expand the provision and continue to run the workshops. In order to do this we needed to purchase a range of equipment to set up a specialised Early Years classroom – in the initial pilot all of the equipment had been borrowed from Park House School. The grant from Embassy of Man helped to purchase equipment ranging from tables and chairs to sand-play tables and toys.

With the new equipment purchased we have started running the workshops this January and have further workshops planned in April. The workshop programme fuses a behavioural, relationship based and developmental play based approach into an integrated whole that is completely individualised. The aim is to create a fun, playful environment where the children can develop and we can provide support and advice for the parents.

This isn’t the first time that Embassy of Man have supported BeyondAutism. In 2017 they provided a grant which paid for our Senior Teacher to go on a Makaton training course. This has enhanced the knowledge at our schools and expanded our training capabilities. Our local Holiday Inn Express Wimbledon South has also been offering work experience opportunities to some of our Sixth Form pupils.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Embassy of Man for this generous grant for our Early Years provision and indeed their ongoing support of the charity.
