  • This course provides an introduction to supporting autistic children in the early years
  • It is designed to provide the participant with the foundation to further develop their knowledge and skills for working with children in the early years
  • The course will take around 4-6 hours to complete

By the end of this course you will:

  • know the basic facts about autism in the early years
  • understand behaviour, using the 4-term contingency and functions of behaviour
  • understand communication methods, how language is learned and how to teach language
  • what prompting is and how to prompt effectively
  • ways to reduce barriers to completing daily living skills
  • how to increase cooperation
  • improved understanding of topics such as sleep/feeding/toilet training
