We’re so proud to share some wonderful news — Tram House School and Tram House Sixth Form have once again been awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools.

This national award, created by the National Children’s Bureau and Optimus Education, recognises schools that make mental health and wellbeing a central part of everyday life. To have achieved it twice in a row is incredibly special. It tells us that wellbeing isn’t something we simply talk about; it’s part of who we are.

At Tram House, wellbeing is woven into everything we do — from the way we greet pupils each morning to how we support each other as colleagues. Our recent Ofsted inspection described the school as “an exceptional, calm and caring place to learn” where pupils “enjoy arriving at school and attend well,” supported by staff who “ensure that pupils consistently follow the school’s rules and routines” and “know exactly what each pupil needs to learn and do next”. Those words mean a lot to us because they reflect the atmosphere we work hard to create.

The process for the Wellbeing Award is detailed and reflective. It looks at how schools listen to pupils and families, how staff are supported, and how emotional health sits at the centre of learning. It’s about building a community where everyone feels safe, valued and heard.

The independent Wellbeing Award for Schools Impact Report found that 93% of schools saw improvements in pupil wellbeing, 95% reported reduced stigma around mental health, and 93% saw a positive impact on staff wellbeing. We can relate to those numbers. Every day, we see pupils developing confidence in expressing themselves, staff supporting one another, and families feeling more connected to the school.

This award belongs to everyone in our community — our amazing pupils, our dedicated staff, and the families who trust us with their children’s education. We’re grateful to every single person who contributes to making Tram House such a warm, supportive and joyful place to learn.

We’ll keep building on what we’ve achieved, continuing to nurture a culture where wellbeing thrives and where every pupil can flourish.
