Winchcombe Abbey C of E Primary School is a church school community founded on a strong ethos of mutual respect, care and trust. All children’s needs are met and the school aims to ensure access for all to the curriculum as appropriate. Daily liaison between the parent and school is led by the class teacher. This is supported by the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) as appropriate. Children’s needs and access to the curriculum, including any Education, Health and Care Plans are regularly reviewed during pupil progress meetings, with the relevant class teachers and their classroom team. Our SENCo and Deputy Headteachers ensure that the accessibility plan is regularly reviewed and is appropriate for the needs of the pupils in the school. As a result of this, class teachers are able to plan support appropriately for the individuals in their class. In the school, support is delivered by the well qualified support teachers as well as the class teachers. Occasionally, specialist teachers and services may be used to complement this provision.
