Thomas Bewick School

Thomas Bewick School is a special school within Prosper Learning Trust in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is for children and young people between three and nineteen years with autistic spectrum conditions. All pupils have a Statement of Special Educational Needs/ Education Health and Care Plan or are in the assessment process. They have a range of learning difficulties; some will require a high level of adult support to access the curriculum, whilst others achieve close to age-related expectations in some areas. The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum across Foundation Stage, Primary, Secondary and Post 16. Pupils are supported by autism specific strategies and approaches to meet their individual needs and learning styles. There are currently 276 pupils on roll. Thomas Bewick School operates over three different sites; Site One is: Linhope Road, West Denton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne and Wear, NE5 2LW; Site Two is shared with Studio West at West Denton Way, West Denton, NE5 2TX; and Site Three is an Early Years provision based at Broadwood School.
