The Castle School is a specialist college for Communication and Interaction, taking statemented pupils between the ages of 3-19 years. The school has three specific autism resources in key stage one, two and three/four with a higher staff to pupil ratio. All pupils have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) three times a year to set targets. The school operates a total communication environment using Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Makaton.
