Course overview:

This self-paced, CPD-certified course provides an introduction to supporting autistic children in the Early Years.

It’s designed for anyone working with or caring for young autistic children and offers a strong foundation to build your confidence, knowledge, and skills in early years practice. The course takes approximately 4–6 hours to complete and can be accessed anytime, at your own pace.

By the end of this course you will:

  • Know the basic facts about autism in the Early Years
  • Understand behaviour, using the 4-term contingency and functions of behaviour
  • Understand communication methods, how language is learned, and how to teach language
  • Explore ways to reduce barriers to completing daily living skills
  • Gain improved understanding of topics such as sleep, feeding, and toilet training
